Wedding planning, whether you’re a bride to be, a maid of honour or a helpful bridesmaid, can be stressful. Usually, you’re burdened with a huge list of tasks and all have a deadline that you need to make. And, of course, there’s the whole pressure that the whole thing has to be perfect! Here are three ways to de-stress, on your own or with your girls!
Either by yourself, or with some friends, get some retail therapy! Go to your favourite shopping mall or go somewhere new and different to where you usually go. Window shop if the wedding budget is getting tight or splurge with some hidden savings if you can. As you’re focusing on paying for everyone else’s food and entertainment during your wedding planning that it might be good for you to buy a little treat for yourself, that’s completely unrelated to the wedding. Buy a nice dress or some perfume or something relaxing like candles.
Give yourself some ‘me’ time and a break from all the madness. Get some space from everyone and everything and have some distraction free time. Don’t do any planning or worrying, just enjoy yourself. It could be as simple as going for a long walk somewhere scenic or taking time to watch your favourite TV show or maybe doing some craft. Whatever you haven’t had time to do that you enjoy, make time for it. You’ll feel so much more detached from the stress and rejuvenated for it!
Perhaps the most obvious way to de-stress of all! Visit the spa. Go alone or take some friends, whichever you find more relaxing. Book yourself in for a day of pampering, with a hotel room and another day of pampering if you really need to get away! Get a facial, have a mani pedi, do some light exercise like swimming in the pool. Let the stress pour out of you in a sauna or a massage and really take care of yourself while you’re there. You’ll leave feeling more relaxed, better hydrated and ready to face anything!
